In case, if you have lost your PAN card, Don’t worry.!
You can apply for a re-issue of your Pan card by applying through the NSDL website.
Just Scroll down further to the Section : Reprint of PAN Card
Charges for Reprint of PAN card:
- For dispatch of PAN card within India(inclusive of taxes) – Rs 50.00
- For dispatch of PAN card outside India(inclusive of taxes) – Rs 959.00
Once you filled required details with Aadhaar number, you will be directed to below page and Select PAN Change Request application to NSDL e-Gov.
In the Application Type, Select the “Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data / Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN Data)”
Submit the application by filling the required details and registration will be completed.
Once Registered, you will receive a token number and Using the Registered User TAB, you will finalize your application process.
Your PAN card can either be sent to your e-mail ID provided or a physical card* will be sent to your address through post depending on what you choose.
*PAN card will be dispatched to the communication address as per the latest details available with Income Tax Department.
Fact : As per provisions of Section 272B of the Income Tax Act., 1961, a penalty of ₹ 10,000 can be levied on possession of more than one PAN.
What other actions you have to do?
- you should first lodge a complaint to your nearest police station. Since the PAN card serves as an identification document, losing it can expose you to the risk of identity theft.
Offline Mode:
You can go to nearest NSDL TIN Facilitation Centre or PAN card centre that is nearest to your location and ask for the form 49A. To apply for lost card, you need a FIR Copy as the acknowledgement.
Any one of the following documents can be submitted as proof of PAN:
- Copy of PAN card
- Copy of PAN allotment letter
After you submit the form, your application will be processed. Once your new PAN card is issued, you will receive it by post to your residential address.
